an example of my style

Everyday I learn more and more things about who I am, and who I am is often reflected within my fashion choices. Just as if a little girl who loves princesses were to wear a princess t-shirt, who we are and what are interests are contributes to our style. I've been told by many people that my style is a mixture of preppy and girly, but I don't like to label myself unless necessary. When one labels their style its almost as if your putting yourself in a box. Style always changes just like people do. Maybe now I will  be preppy and girly, but who knows what will happen when I grow older? After much in depth thinking this morning, I decided to take photographs of what my current style consists of. By doing this, I can document each style phase I go through and reflect upon them as the years pass. Here it is.

This is what a typical outfit for me would look like, matched shirt and shoes, light pants, and of course a defined collar. I don't discuss the white backpack in this post since its simply used as an example as to what I would pair the outfit with. The bag is from Primark.

This top is incredibly soft and comfy. It's knitted wool is flexible and stretchy, helping you keep you cool and comfortable all throughout the day. I especially love the feminine, shaped, and pleated cut of this top.

A recurring theme in my style is an attention to detail on collars, hence the name collars in my blog name (I'll discuss the effect of collars in a separate blog post). What I love most about collars is that they can add a feminine and elegant touch to almost any top. The collar featured in photo is from Twin Set and attaches to the neck of the top using discreet and comfortable hooks.

A light pink shade goes great with a light grey shade. These checkered light pink pants from Uniqlo look great underneath the grey top. They add a lighter and shade to the outfit color palette and help to brighten it up.

Watches are a must have for me. They help you up your look and make you appear more sophisticated. I matched the white strap with the flowers on my collar and the white squares on my checkered pants. It's always important to pay attention to detail and make note of every color in your outfit.

Last but definitely not least are the shoes. The grey shade in this shoe compliments the top. These penny loafer style  shoes are very comfortable and add a very elegant touch to ones outfit. These shoes are from Primark.
