A Patriotic and Nautical Lookbook!

Hey everyone! I'm back with another blog post :) Summer (unfortunately) is coming to an end. It's time to put away those dresses, skirts, and shorts, and take out those sweaters and pants. But before you do it's important to go out with a bang. For my final summer outfit I  decided to go with a bit of a patriotic/ nautical look. I often picture this outfit as a playful sailing outfit or a classic 40's beach look. The red, the white, and the blue combo make for a patriotic, color coordinated, and put together look. To begin my look, I started with classic fashion pieces. The white tee with some navy blue stripes complements the red scarf and shorts seamlessly without any overdoing. These two items are both from H&M.  The high waisted red shorts from American Appear are ultra vintage and remind me of something  my fashion inspiration, Audrey Hepburn would wear out on a summer day. Furthermore they match the scarf and pull together the patriotic attitude of  this outfit! I added a red, white, and blue Tommy Hilfiger backpack, you could also add a white pom pom charm if you felt inspired to do so.  Unfortunately I foolishly forgot to include a shot of  my shoes in this photo :( Typical Alex. There's two ways you can go about wearing the shoes. You could modernize and casualize this look by wearing striped superstar sneakers, or you could go for a more sophisticated and elegant shoe by wearing a pair of loafers. I personally opt for the loafers because I'm  a sucker for some classic fashion :) In conclusion, I hope that everyone gets a bit of inspiration from this blog post to go out and finish your summer with a bang.
