Five reasons you should get out and travel right now!

There are some people who never feel the urge to leave the house. Content to stay where they come from and finding enjoyment relaxing on the familiar couch they sit on, they spend each and every day doing the same thing, at the same place, and same time. Then there’s the rest of us: the adventurers who can’t sit still, the ones who wish to explore each and every nook and cranny of the planet, searching for the new and enlightening experiences it offers. The ones who always keep their passports on them – just in case. When I think of traveling, I think of one of the many gifts this broad and beautiful planet offers us. Although not all of us on this may find traveling particularly overexciting there are many advantages and unique experiences we can acquire through doing so. Here are the top five most important lessons I've learned from traveling over the course of fifteen years.

1. You become more familiar with yourself and gain self confidence.

No matter how much planning, research and meticulous attention to detail you use to schedule your trip, it is evident that you'll encounter an unexpected situation somewhere down the road. Whatever happens, happens. The realization that you can conquer roadblocks by yourself helps you learn a bit more about who you are the your admirable problem solving capabilities. Being in these situations can help give you a fresh sense of  self-confidence, ultimately giving yourself a new found sense of happiness.

2.  You can learn so so much.

Whether you learn a new language, acquire a new impressive skill, or engage in other interesting cultures, everywhere and anywhere you go while raveling provides a unique and insightful learning experience. Learning while traveling is a fantastic way to increase brain activity and heighten eagerness for further brain enriching experiences

3) You learn to appreciate other cultures

When we travel and are away from the sweet comfort of our own abode we can often feel vulnerable. This can make it very tempting to jump to conclusions and critique cultures that follow different patterns of life  . Being surrounded by an unknown culture and language will often force the traveler to engulf themselves completely into a new society. By doing this the traveler will break through his or her biases and gain a new, first hand, perspective rather than just believing every foolish tale you heard or read about in the news. When I visited India I was fortunate enough to experience a fresh and beautiful culture . My experience changed my perspective on the world and forever changed the way I would view the trickery of the media (post all about India is on my blog).

4) More stories to tell

Now please don't be that one torturous person that forces every living person around them to a grueling marathon of boring and anticlimactic travel tales. I'm sure to the surprise of many,  you can actually make someone laugh if your stories remain short, sweet and simple! So hold on to those  bizarre, funny and often embarrassing situations for if they're told modestly they can relate back to people, making you feel accomplished and entertaining.

5) Great Memories

When I sailed down the gorgeous . When I rode up to a castle on an elephant and made acquaintances  with a friendly  camel in Jaipur. and when I finally came face to face with the gleaming, stunning and iconic Taj Mahal in Agra, are all memories that are near and dear to my heart  . Recalling memories of happiness can sustain a feeling of contentment long after the moment has passed, and new experiences are memories that can stick with you forever.
